In 1896 general Wayler of Spain constructed the 'Reconcentracion Policy" and sent thousands of Cubans to Camps. By 1898 1/3 of Cubas population had been sent to camps and over 400,000 did as a result.

The Filipinos revolted against the Spanish rule in fall of 1896.

In the early 1898 the US Sent the USS Maine to Cuba. On february 15, 1898 the sinking of the USS Maine happen.

Battle Of Manila- On May 1, 1898 Dewey defeated the spanish fleet of Manila in a surprise attack which not a Single american was killed.

San Juan Hill- July 1, 1898 the Rough Riders supported by two black regiments charge the Hill.

Treaty of Paris- Signed on December 10, 1898, The treaty of Paris officially ended the Spanish American war. According to the treaty Cuba went free, Puerto rico, Guam, and the Philippines were ceded to the U.S., and the U.S. agree to pay Spain indemnity of $20 million dollars.
