Monroe Doctrine Today
The Monroe Doctrine today is the cornerstone and base of America's foreign policy today. Years later after the doctrine was created American policy makers did not dismiss the doctrine against European powers despite all of the military interventions in Latin America. In 1890's the U.S extended the doctrine to include the right to decide how a dispute between Venezuela and Great Britain over the boundaries of British Guiana should be settled.
