The dilemma that was the Spanish American War originated in Cuba. Some of the main people who were involved in this war are like Gorge Dewey. Gorge Dewey was a Navy commander who lead a surprise attack on the Spanish. Also it was the President at the time Theodore Roosevelt. He gave Dewey permission to to send the surprise attack. Then it was Emilio Aguinaldo who was the first person to declare war on the Spanish. Lastly Walter Reed was the United States scientist to link the yellow fever to mosquito bites. Then he helped eliminated the disease.
