Timeline of Latin America and it's revolution

1700's- The Spanish controlled trade and used it to benefit Spain's economy. Colonies were completely controlled by Spain.

1804-The Latin Americans started a huge movement for freedom.

1808- Napoleon takes over Spain and Portugal. Rebellion started to break out in Latin America

1810-Two Catholic priests from Mexico started a revolt in Mexico. It became a role model for other Spanish ruled countries.

1811- Bolivar freed a lot of the countries and was the most important person in the Latin American Revolutions.

1814-Napoleon came back to power after being exiled. In the next few years the rest of the Latin American countries gain their freedom.

1815- Brazil was the biggest colony in Latin America, ruled by Portugal.

1818-1821-These three years was when most of the Latin American Revolutions got their independence. The countries that gained freedom during the times were, Mexico, Grand Colombia ( Venezuela, Ecuador, Columbia), Peru Brazil, and Chile.

1822-The Latin American countries were rich in resources, which is why the Europeans too them over in the first place.

1823-Because Latin America was a profitable trading route for the USA, President Morroe decided to take action in 1823.
