Timeline

May 19, 1898- President McKinley makes preparations for occupation in the Philippines.

June 12, 1898- Emilio Aguinaldo signs the Proclamation of Independence.

August 13, 1898- Filipino army stays away from city control by U.S. soldiers. ( Final battle in the Spanish-American War happens)

December 12, 1898- US negotiates the Treaty of Paris and US refuses to accept Philippines independence.

February 4, 1899- Out of 6 million Filipinos about 400,000 to 600,000 lives were affected. Americans were about 10,000 (causalities, injures, etc.)

July 4, 1902- US declare victory over the Philippines in the war.
