Kent University Demonstration

When America declared that they would invade Cambodia, students at Kent State University got together to make a public protest against the American invasion. The students began to light the R.O.T.C. buildings on fire. Mayor Leroy Satrom of Kent, Ohio asked the Governor, Jim Rhodes, to call in the National Guard to assess the situation. When the National Guard tried to get the situation under control but protesters refused, they shot into the crowd killing four students and injuring nine others. The demonstration took four days.
