Annexation of Hawaii
The Annexation of Hawaii happened in 1898. President Grover Cleveland refused to annex Hawaii. Hawaii is made up of 7 islands. The queen was overthrown from her throne. The united states refused to help her regain her throne. The Hawaiian people made a petition against annexation even the queen at one point talked to senate to stop the issue. This relates to foreign policy because the United States decided to take it upon themselves to annex Hawaii until 1959.
