1813

British forces had gone as far as what is now Ohio during the conflict. In Michigan, British troops repelled an attempted siege by the US. The day after the battle, the British and Natives

massacred the wounded and tired survivors. This did not completely daunt the American forces however, as they successfully defeated British troops, from Lake Erie to Vermont. Arguably the bloodiest year for the wartime, 1813 gave witness to numerous battles between the two superpowers, constantly shifting the tide of the war, and peace negotiations would not begin until 1814. Things only started looking worse the year after sadly, as the United States faced another foe; Spain.
