Subject: Workers' Comp Ad Hoc Committee
This query is directed towards Barrett, Elizabeth, Chris, George, and one other whose name I've forgotten (Jay?), who comprise the Pro Tem Committee investigating Workers Comp Insurance:
I would have thought your Committee ought to be on the agenda to deliver monthly reports. There was no such report given at last night's meeting. Can you please outline for me and the rest of the Board your plan of action on this subject, what you've accomplished so far, and timetable as to when you plan on making your final report? Pam mentioned to me that she had given to Barrett the name of an insurance lawyer she had met at NERFA. Has this person been approached? Will someone be contacting the lawyer that Jay spoke with?

As Chair of this Committee (Workman's Compensation Committee) I'll be happy to keep our Board abreast of our progress as we work our way thru this issue. I've always been an advocate of transparency and open communication as opposed to secrecy and back room deals, and I feel the Board and our members have the right to understand and be privy to this Committee's process and progress.
To this end, as was done with the last Committee I chaired, all our work will be posted on the Folk Project web site for all to see and admire (Folk Project Back Office > Committee Pages > Workman's Compensation Committee). I'm not sure we'll report at the level of exactly who said what to whom at which meeting, but the Committee's direction, challenges, and progress will all be made accessible to anyone interested. Any questions not addressed on the Folk Project web page can be asked at a monthly Board meeting, and we'll give the best answer available at the time.
All Folk Project members also have the right to attend any and all committee meetings, and participate directly in the committees work. Just as at monthly Board meetings, guests at committee meetings can't vote, and are expected to comply with the committees chosen way of conducting it's business. I'll make sure that our meeting dates and locations are also posted on the Folk Project calendar page (Folk Project Back Office > Folk Project Calendar) for anyone planning on joining us.
Regards,
Barrett Wilson

Can you make a monthly report to the Board just as all the other Committees do?
