Subject: Treasurer's Report
Greetings, folks -
First, please accept my apologies for missing the March meeting. A previous engagement will keep me away that evening.
As of February 28, we have $19,420 in checking, $14,167 in the Money Market, and $280 in Petty Cash Considering that we have another $125,283 in the Vanguard account (and about $23,500 on its way from PayPal) we are on very firm financial ground. Understand that a lot of that cash represents advance payments for Getaway, and will be eaten up once the expenses arrive in May. Also note that not all venues have reported their February details, so the attached report is not a full accounting of the YTD.
Also note that I've added a new asset account for PayPal. Historically, I've swept everything from PayPal on the first of each month, bringing its value to zero. But I realized that the bookkeeping would be a lot simpler if I left pre-paid Minstrel money in the PayPal account until the month a given concert was held. So in addition to all of the above, we have another $1,390 in PayPal land.
I am ready to close the books on 2018, so consider this a last call before I hand things over to the inestimable Bill Dodds, who prepares our taxes on a volunteer basis. Whadda guy, eh? A round of applause for Mr. Dodds!
Something for the board to consider. We received a donation from Sanctuary concerts in February, representing $323.00 that was left in its checking account. Sanctuary wanted that money to be classified as a donation to Getaway, but I felt that should really be up to the board. It's tagged as a donation to the Project for now, but I can easily move it to the Getaway column if the board wants to honor Sanctuary's wishes. Please talk among yourselves and empower someone to let me know. I nominate Mark!
Otherwise, no comments. I will stand (or sit) on the attached report.
Regards,
Chris
