Swingin' Tern Report

I regret that I am not able to attend the board meeting this coming Tuesday due to a conflict that evening with an event at work. The report for Swingin' Tern is as follows:

• • We've had a strong start for 2010, with attendance of 78 at the Anniversary Dance on January 2 and 88 at the Jan 16 dance.

  • Newcomers seem to be finding the dance and coming back for seconds - at the two dances in January, we had 9 people return with newcomer passes (all newcomers are given free passes to come to a subsequent dance) and 15 passes were handed out at the second dance.

  • We are $260 ahead for the year.

  • Starting this month, we have increased the fee for callers from $85 to $90 and for band members from $75 to $80. This is the first increase since I've been involved in the dance.

• We have great dances coming up next month: Marty Fager and Off'n Ensemble on Feb 7; Paul Somlo and Illegal Contraband on Feb 21.
