ADMINISTRATIVE OVERVIEW
Secretary
February minutes are delayed and will be available prior to the April meeting.
Treasurer
Jeff added to his written report that real numbers will appear up to two months in arrears in order to have complete information. He has ordered new checks and secure pens. There continue to be spearfishing attacks with phony invoices seeking payment.
NEW BUSINESS
David Massengill
Elizabeth reported that David Massengill was the victim of hacking and fraud and is being helped by a benefit by the Princeton Folk Music Society and a GoFundMe page. An action item was suggested to add a blurb to the Newsletter.
Vets Valor Project
Elizabeth asked Mark if he had an update on the request for funds for the Vets Valor Project. Mark said no update but the date for the benefit concert has been set for Thursday, June 25th.
New Birthday Party Scam
Todd reported that he almost fell victim to a new scam where an email from a known friend is an invitation to a birthday party. When he opened it up, it asked for his email address and then it wanted his gmail password. He found that suspicious and followed up with the friend and the friend had fallen for the scam, which is how all of his friends got the “invitation”.
OLD BUSINESS
Steve Humphreys
Steve has received clearance from his employer to be on the Board. He is now reinstated to the Board.
BOT
Andrew and Sandie continued with last month’s discussion of adding the Big Orange Tarp to the Folk Project. Questions were raised and answered, but in the end the motion was tabled again while Andrew and Sandie clarify the specifics of their request.
COMMITTEE REPORT HIGHLIGHTS
Almost all committee chairs stood on their written reports.
Troubadour Staffing
Jean arrived on a Friday to find out that all of the tables had been taken to the new building for an upcoming fundraiser happening the next day. Because of such conflicts, she decided to purchase 8 or 10 tables that will be labeled as ours and kept on our cart. She also found out from Katie at MUUF that on April 24th there will be a big event in the new building which will take most of the parking spaces and will also be using the Terrace Room. In the past, we have borrowed parking from the museum and ferried people to MUUF. The discussion was to continue offline and Steve volunteered to be the liaison with MUUF on this issue.
Publicity and Web
Sam requested that reports to the Board be sent out earlier as they come in too late to be read before the meeting.
Future Planning
Bob reported that Robin has stepped down as co-chair for personal reasons.
Troubadour and Special Events
Mark said it is time to renew our membership in the Chamber of Commerce. He is looking for more Board members to volunteer to learn our new concert accounting system. There were questions about upcoming concerts and advance sales for the Songwriters Summit evening concert.
MOVE TO ADJOURN
A motion to adjourn was made at, seconded and passed unanimously at 10:01 PM.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, April 7th at 8:15 PM on Zoom.
