HSNOI

We only taped one show in July, due to a last minute cancellation. Steve Kunzman's mother went into the hospital and, I believe, passed away in FL and he had to fly down. Steve has been rescheduled.

In the show that we did tape with Walt Koken & Clare Milliner, we included a one-minute public service announcement with background music by Walt & Clare, asking for volunteers to work with us on producing the show. I also sent fliers to the Minstrel for the literature table and requested that the MC make an announcment to the same effect. I would appreciate it if MCs for the next few weeks could do the same. We aree down to a bare bones pool of active volunteers.

In the 1990's he began producing CD's of his own banjo playing, both traditional and original tunes and songs, two on Rounder and one on his own Mudthumper label. http://www.mudthumper.com

576) 9/18/13 6:45 Frank Fotusky - plays Acoustic Blues in the style reminiscent of the great East Coast "Piedmont" players such as Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Boy Fuller, John Jackson, Blind Willie McTell to name a few. A majority of his material is culled from the '20's, '30's and '40's; his original compositions are rooted in this era and still carry a contemporary feel. East coast or "Piedmont Blues” consists of sophisticated syncopation with fingerpicked guitar. The result is a sound that resembles that of the ragtime piano. http://frankfotusky.tripod.com

577) 9/18/13 8:00 Kendy Gable - Growing up in the farm fields and mountains of Pennsylvania, Kendy now calls the streets of Brooklyn home. In his new CD, Back Home, Steve explores his truth through the essence of home as restorative power, as light in the distance & light in the heart, through his music. Steve’s music presents deep, soul-stirring Americana with moods ranging from rollicking to whisper-soft and twang to mist-dripping melodies. Steve lives in New Jersey and has traveled the world with guitar in hand. www.SteveKunzman.com
