125 people signed up for Getaway in the first week.
It’s a phenomenal start.
Because our last two sold out in four and ten days,
we will increase our publicity to make people aware we’re not sold out yet.
Please indicate this at the Minstrel and other FP events.
As we expected,
letting two acts out of their Getaway contracts
was more of an opportunity than a problem.
We’re About 9 will join us in October.
As some of you know
they are a very creative, unique, cutting-edge folk trio with brilliant lyrics and arrangements,
and that totally coincides ad reenforces the spirit of this Fall’s program.
This committee operates on the theory that
each Getaway has been the same for the past 40 years,
but each Getaway has to be 9% different ** to keep the regulars interested and excited.
This year’s Spring and Fall lineups are perfect examples of this theory in action.
Mark
** In this instance “9” is not a real number.

Addendum to Special Concert Board Report for August 2016
Frank Caprio, a volunteer with Horses, asked for my help
running a house concert featuring Roy Bookbinder.
Pam approved running it through the Folk Project’s Special Concert’s Committee.
It will be held Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 4pm at the Schafferosa.
Tickets will be $20, and attendance limited to 50 seats.
All proceeds will go to Roy,
minus $53 going to the Project for ASCAP/BMI, a poster for the Minstrel,
and insurance.
Frank intends to sell 20 of the tickets,
so the Project intends to sell up to 30 tickets.
Thanks to Paul Fisher for hooking Robin and me up with Frank.
