Subject: Swingin' Tern March report
The Swingin' Tern report for March:
A great month of dancing at Swingin' Tern. First was Doug and Brian's double dance on March 2. Mainly it was to celebrate Doug's thirty-five years at Swingin' Tern, during which time he has written thousands of puns and wordplays to advertise our dance. As you know, Doug was one of the founders of the dance, and in addition to all the writing and art work he's done and continues to do, Doug has volunteered in many other ways.
This dance featured calling by Donna Hunt, who is a friend of Doug, the Folk Project, Swingin' Tern and the whole dance community. Doug also arranged for Coracree -- a top band, a band people travel to dance to.
Admission to both the afternoon and evening dances was free -- expenses paid by Doug. Contributions in support of the Folk Project and Swingin'
Tern were invited.
On March 16 we had another good dance, when Desiree Halcomb called to Jaybird.
Because of Doug's contribution and the support of our dancers, we had an excellent month financially, finishing $670 to the good (excluding FP overhead).
