Subject: Future Planning Committee Report, September Board Meeting
To: FP Board <fullboard@folkproject.org>
Cc: Bob McNally <bmcnally@strumstick.com>
We had a very lively and successful meeting, organizing our purpose and laying a groundwork for how we will proceed in upcoming months.
We decided to list several ways of approaching our committee's purpose, ranging from the practical to the poetic.
A. We will look at ideas, considering, Desirability and Potential, in 4 broad areas.
Sustainability
Growth
Refinement
Mission/Mission Statement
B. We will come up with ideas from the practical to the wild and crazy for the FP to consider doing (that we have never done before).
C. We will look at ideas to make sure our special brand of music/love/hugs/sanity/happiness still exists 10 years from now.
We discussed that the Folk Project formed around the key ideas that musicians of all levels would have opportunities to play and participate in folk music, that members could develop their skills, and share music with others. This distinguished us from other organizations that existed at the time we formed.
We reviewed the listings of activities and Resources that were generated by the Intentions and Resources committee, as a starting overview of what the FP has done over time, and what resources we have to bear on any future projects we might undertake. (listed below, entries in alphabetical order).
We planned our September meeting for Sept 20th, 8:00 PM
