Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year.
Not much to report financially. We did receive a refund from the IRS for 2019. We were fined for failure to send in a report on time last year. I sent in the fine along with a letter explain how it happen. Apparently they have taken pity on us.
This year has also brought more tax problems. I decided to tackle the taxes given the Covid lock-down and we had no accountant. Unfortunately I made a few mistakes. One I told you about at the last meeting. There was another problem as well. When I looked we usually submitted a 990 EZ form so that is the one I filled out and submitted. Seems there was a limit to revenue with that form which we exceeded last year. We received a form telling us we needed to redo the taxes in a full 990 form which is more complicated. Chris felt he could figure it out. We re-submitted the taxes with a cover letter explaining all the circumstances. Hope all is accepted.
We received a very generous donation from Pat Brangs. Thank you very much Pat. I will be sending a thank you note tomorrow.
I have started to put some information together regarding and accountant. With all the problems we have had I thought is was a good idea to see what the costs will be. As I get more information I will let you all know.
