End of year 2012 Webmaster report recap: (John Lamb, Allan Kugel, Lori Falco)
Our servers on the west coast were quite unaffected by the storms and the site remained up for those who had the ability to access it. The distributed design of the site meant that others were able to enter emergency messages about Minstrel cancellations and Swingin’ Tern non-cancellations even when your webmaster could not.
Event updates now mostly handled by non-webmaster volunteers. That frees up the webmaster to do other tasks. He attended a workshop on improving cultural access for the disabled that was presented by the Arts Council of the Morris Area. This will help us evaluate and improve our website so that we may better serve all audiences, including those with disabilities.
The biggest accomplishment this year was moving the Minstrel-Gram over to Constant Contact. This took many, many man hours. John Lamb, Webmaster, thanks Lori Falco, assisted by Allan Kugel and Mike Agranoff, for working on this project. The first Constant Contact email went out for the November 23 Minstrel-Gram.
