I wanted to do something a little more elaborate for the annual meeting, and that's what you'll see in the PDF. Note that this is a 12-month report, which includes December 2015. It should be fairly representative of a full Folk Project year.
Some comments, page by page.
The two pie charts on page one show our income and expense structure. No surprises there. This page also shows Net Operating Income at about $2,500. Remember that the Getaway gets an internal subsidy, which in this period was worth about $3,000. So on the usual P&L, our Net Operating Income would be about $5,500, because that subsidy cancels some of the Getaway's expenses. I was sure that if used that number, someone would do the math and ask why the Income and Expenses didn't net out properly. Hence the more conservative figure.
The table and graph on page two shows the detail of how each department has performed, which is then shown visually in the bar graph. Swingin' Tern actually has the best margin here, with profitability of close to 14%, and Special Concerts is the only department that didn't show a profit for this period, with a small loss of about $660.
The final two graphs on page three show how our cash position has changed over the past 18 months. The first graph is very spikey because of Getaway admissions, which build up in the checking account over several months and then get spent in the month of the event. But the red dotted trend line shows that despite the spikiness, we're up about $5,000 from where we were in June 2015. And the Strategic Account (a.k.a. Vanguard, a.k.a. The Agranoff Endowment) has been doing very well indeed.
I'll bring maybe a dozen copies of this to the meeting. If you're getting it electronically, please print your own copy (assuming you want one). And Barrett, can you let me know how many guests we expect? I want to have enough to hand out, but prefer to waste as little paper as possible.
If you have questions (or suggested improvements) let me know. I won't be printing hard copy until Tuesday afternoon.
