ANNUAL REPORT
Hi, Everyone,
The Folk Project, as an organization, is really very special and unique, compared to most other organizations. We are very much a Community, and many of us think of each other as a second Family. Community Service plays an important role in supplementing and reinforcing this ongoing atmosphere of caring and support that all of our Members contribute to and share with one another.
Community Service basically performs 2 functions: sending cards to Members for both happy occasions and difficult ones, and also facilitating a connection between our many talented Members (musicians, storytellers, and dancers) and outside community organizations seeking performers for various events.
During the early part of 2020, we received requests from 2 community organizations for performers, and these requests were shared with members of our Performers Resource Directory, via Email. However, due to Covid-19 limitations, virtually all live performance events have since been cancelled.
Sadly, during the past year, since December 2019 through today. the Folk Project has lost 10 Members and former Members.
Our members have also lost at least 10 Loved Ones - Family Members and dear Friends - during the past year.
Sympathy cards from the Folk Project have been sent whenever addresses were known.
Since April, we have established a section in the Newsletter, "In Memorium", in which to share news of our Loved Ones' passing.
We have also established an "Obits" Email list, for those who would like to receive news of individual's passing in a more timely manner. For inclusion in this list, contact Obits@folkproject.org.
A Memorial Service, remembering and celebrating Toby Fagenson's life and music, is scheduled via Zoom, for Sunday, December 20th, from 7-9pm. If you would like to participate, please send an email request toRon Schwartz:Rockinron698@yahoo.com..
Get-Well cards have also been sent to Members dealing with health issues.
Lets all keep encouraging and supporting each other, as we've always been doing!
Wishing everyone a Healthy & Happy Holiday Season and New Year ahead!
