We had three dances in March, and did not have one on the first Saturday in April, the church not being available to us on the day before Easter. Of those three dances, the first one, on March 3rd, had the smallest band (two persons) and the highest attendance (86), and was the only one of the three with net revenue. The last dance, held on the fifth Saturday of the month, had the largest band (five persons) and the lowest attendance (69)--but that was still good attendance compared with the last two times that we held a fifth-Saturday dance. That five-person band, called Oy Diddle Diddle, was a new combination of familiar players: Joe DePaolo, Sam Zygmuntowicz, Marco Brehm, Danny Elias, and Bob Jones. They were very high-energy and very well liked by the dancers.
Our next dance, April 21st, is our special Rock 'n' Reel, with contra dancing, rock and roll, and then contras to rock and roll music; two whole bands plus vocalists.
