From Webmaster John Lamb:
This month's website work involved routine maintenance, including establishing an email forwarder for the Nominations Committee, updating various other email forwarders, making minor corrections and additions to the Harvest Hoot and New Year’s Eve dance write-ups, adding captions to a couple of photos for upcoming Minstrel events, and scaling back the Festival portion of the site until it is time to ramp back up for next festival. As always, the website team welcomes questions, suggestions and comments sent to webmaster@folkproject.org.
From Publicity Chairman Nancy Kelner:
Minstrel publicity appeared in the Cranford Chronicle a few times in October. The paper is owned by the same people who publish the Suburban News and the Independent Press.
Sent Oct. 28 Minstrel information (Frank Vignola) to radio station WBGO for free, same-day, on-air announcement. Did anyone hear it?
Some interesting information in the October issue of NJ Monthly magazine: Year-to-date visits to the NJ Division of Tourism website are up 36% from 2010; in June, visits to the website were up 46%; in July, there were over 100,000 visitors to website.
Kevin Coughlin of Morristown Green, who gives us lots of publicity, suggested we have a formal press pass. Mike Agranoff and I have agreed that this is a good idea, and I will be designing one.
Still trying to get a handle on Swingin’ Tern outreach to college students. Will ask Leigh Walker, Swingin’ Tern chair, to help.
Lynn Miles has offered to write a second monthly Minstrel press release.
