We taped two fine shows in April:
640) 4/6/16 Chrissi Poland - "This sonorous singer-drummer (& pianist) rips through contemporary blues numbers with sheer ferocity, and her stages are only expanding; she recently opened tours for Lady Gaga and Scissor Sisters. Her “Songs From the Concrete” (Danben) continues to gather traction, and small wonder; Don Henley never had this much joie de vivre." www.ChrissiPoland.com
641) 4/6/16 Sam Edelston – is on a quest to bring dulcimers into widespread public awareness. In the process, has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative mountain dulcimer players around, and his music has been heard in over 190 countries. His repertoire ranges from rock to opera, and from bossa nova to bluegrass, along with folk music and originals. He also plays guitar, banjo, and hammered dulcimer, and is chair of the Nutmeg Dulcimer Festival in Connecticut. www.SamTheMusicMan.com

Be warned, she will mesmerize you.” Princeton Folk Music Society; a broad range of folk influences ~ from Jean Ritchie and Mary Travers to Patty Griffin and Lucinda Williams. Katherine's got a style all her own, with a honey-warm voice evoking Mary's depth and power and Lucinda's heart-tugging soul. www.katherinerondeau.com
643) 5/18/16 @ 8:00 Rare Spirits – serves up high-proof Roots music with verve, humor and aplomb. Sweet harmonies, rollicking rhythms and an electric stage presence combine to sing songs of drinking, cheating, lying, stealing, shucking, jiving, killing, dying... and the occasional haunting. Their specialties include rip-roaring original music and an ever-evolving set of music relating to Prohibition, presented with historical anecdotes. Come have a sip and have a listen! www.rarespiritsband.com
644) 6/8/16 6:30 Mindy Schmitt - brings heart and spirit into her songwriting, soft and sweet one minute, with punching guitar rhythms and vocals the next. Her folk-rock style hints of influences such as Melissa Ferrick and the Indigo Girls, yet with a distinctive sound all her own. From her pop-punk roots of the early 90’s when she started to play music, she has since picked up an acoustic guitar and softened her approach, but without losing the flavors of all the genres she has loved along the way. https://www.reverbnation.com/mindyschmitt.com
