We taped two good shows in Oct:
628) 10/1/15 Stuart Fuchs – Stuart Fuchs is a multi instrumentalist, recording artist, sound healer, and an innovative and compassionate teacher. He is a lifelong minstrel and plays a wide variety of styles of music on acoustic guitar and ukulele including folk, classical, jazz, rock, avant garde, sacred and world music. He also plays Latin percussion, Bolivian charango, Australian didjeridoo, Native American flute, Tibetan singing bowls, and yes - hunting calls and amplified toys. http://stufuchs.com
629) 10/19/15 6:30 Arthur Sherry – “My music is an eclectic mix inspired by the great finger pickers like Chet Atkins and Merle Haggard. My songs are influenced by my grandmother, a poet in her own right and the world around me. I like to paint pictures with words so people can see it in their mind's eye.” https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCinw6ExyDNNZqlspSWEciiw
Stuart Fuchs told us he was avail able for 10/1 about 2 weeks prior to the date. We were able to get the studio, but we couldn't find a guest for a 2nd taping on that date with so little notice.
Arthur Sherry brought in a DVD of his nicely produced music video featuring his song, "Our Cool First Lady" at my request. To my surprise the control room is no longer set up to edit from a DVD to mini-DV tape. So we left time for the video at the end of the show and I transferred the video to tape. On our next taping date, I plan to get there early enough to make the edit before the guests show up.
Black Sea Hotel was also scheduled for taping on 10/19, but one of the trio cam down with the flu and had to cancel at the last minute. We will try to reschedule soon.
(Postponed from 10/19/15 8:30) Black Sea Hotel - have been praised by The NY Times, The Washington Post, Paul Schomer of National Public Radio, David Byrne, New York Music Daily, Timeout NY, East Village Radio & more. The group's first album debuted at #2 on iTunes World Music Top Albums. At once lyrical & ethereal, dissonant & driving, their distinct yet unified voices create a harmonic blend that is often called otherworldly, haunting, even spellbinding. The NY-based a cappella trio draws its inspiration from the rich traditions of Balkan folk song. www.blackseahotelusa.com
