Swingin' Tern report for January:
Swingin' Tern's thirty-fourth anniversary dance was January 6. Bob Isaacs and Sue Gola called to Blue Jersey. It was a good dance, although the weather kept some of the dancers and planned callers away.
Coordinating with the Minstrel, on January 20 Swingin' Tern hosted the Mari Black Ensemble, with Joe De Paolo calling. An excellent dance with a great band.
Mostly because of the expense of such a high-profile band on January 20, for the month Swingin' Tern ran a deficit of $605.
A week ago, Warren Lucas underwent a quadruple bypass. He is in good spirits and optimistic about returning to our dance soon. Warren and his compañera Jeannie volunteer at almost every dance, not just for us but also our sister dance in Rockland County. Already we are missing them and are looking forward to their return. Warren is a vigorous and strong guy, and this was all quite unexpected.
