Report From “The Chair” – Paul Fisher
My report will be very short as I have company from Chile and have not had much time for Publicity this month. I will not be able to make the meeting tomorrow night.
We received our box of Morris County Tourism books, some of which were left at MUF two weeks ago. I had wanted to bring some to the April meeting but I will not be able to attend. I will bring them in May.
Many of the usual outlets published our events this month.
The individual reports below are what I have received from the reporting members.
Please excuse any omissions as I have to generate this report very quickly.
Webmaster Report – John Lamb
After spending quite a lot of time with the site in January and February, switching to Google Mail and introducing Google AdWords and Analytics, the web team returned to a more normal workload in March. Allan improved the format of email messages that get generated when users fill out forms on various pages. Other than that, it was mostly tweaks to fix typos when changing from DreamHost mail to Google, and routine items like updates to the carousel.
March was the first full month for both AdWords and Analytics, so the following statistics may be of interest.
User sessions - 3097 for an average of 99.9 per day. Fewest (63) on March 13, most (220) on March 21.
Total number of unique Users - 2156. Returning users accounted for 38.3% of all sessions.
Total pageviews - 7089, for an average of 2.3 pages per session
Average session duration - 1 minute 42 seconds
Google AdWords traffic accounted for 211 sessions, or 6.8% of the total.
Notable numbers of references to us from other sites included the Folk Project facebook page (74 sessions),fanwoodperformanceseries.org (73) and sunnyochs.com (58).
We reached users in 41 countries on 6 continents.
Our most frequently visited pages are the home page (1891 pageviews), the Minstrel calendar page (1666) and the Swingin' Tern page (440). The following also got at least 100 page views for the month: the newsletter download page, the main page for Getaway, the Ukefest page, the Special Concerts main page, the Minstrel Open Stage page, and the performers directory.
As always, many thanks to Allan, Lori and Charles for the work they do. Keep those inquiries and suggestions coming to webmaster@folkproject.org.
