We've gotten some new folks lately signing up to volunteer, but we have been running short-staffed. Again, a blurb in the newsletter is in the offing to try to drum up some new folks.
The rescheduled Valentine's day show & Volunteer Appreciation dinner was a huge success, musically and every other way. I bought what I thought was an insane amount of food and it was gone down to the last crumb. It was as if locusts had descended. The show was wonderful and folks really seemed to have a good time. Due to buying the extra food, it was not the big fundraiser it usually is (netted $127) but a good time was had by all.
The hardest role to fill is always that of Head Staff, and Alicia Weimer has had to bow out of doing that for the foreseeable future, so now I am down one stalwart. Amy & I have been talking about how to recruit more folks into that position as well. It's not particularly hard, but it does involve knowing the logistics of at least the front-end jobs (kitchen, door, baker), the ability to count money and schmooze simultaneously, be the "face" of the Minstrel for the evening, and stay until the bitter end to get all the money counted and everything buttoned up.
