FP Board Members:
As you may already know, in order to achieve a quorum at an FP board meeting, we need to have at least six of our nine trustees in attendance. Because we weren't able to fulfill a quorum at the past two FP board meetings, I recently reached out to a few of our trustees to ascertain that they would be able to attend all, or almost all of our future meetings. (Please understand with sensitivity, that these weren't easy calls to make or receive; I felt it necessary to do this to insure that our FP board would be able to do necessary FP business at upcoming meetings.)
Here are the results of today's and a few other recent conversations:
I would like to personally and sincerely thank Carolyn Messina, Brad Pryor, and Ruth Wolfish for their past dedication and committment to the Folk Project as trustees. Our trustees bear a great responsibility. All FP trustees selflessly give of their time and effort, and all care deeply for this organization. I request that each of you, my fellow board members, also reach out to personally thank these retiring trustees.
At the next board meeting (at Rick and Cathy Thomas' on June 7), we will have openings for 3 trustees. According to our constitution, upon a trustee's resignation, a successor is elected by majority vote of the board. I have requested that Scooter re-convene our nominating committee to help us find good candidates to fill these slots. Please contact Scooter with suggestions that you have for new trustees. Nominations can also be made at the board meeting. It is my hope and intent that we will be able to elect 3 new, well-qualified trustees at our upcoming board meeting.
Please note that since Ruth won't be able to host the next meeting due to necessary business travel, our June 7 meeting has been moved to Rick and Cathy Thomas', 12 Warren Way, Warren, NJ. Please attend. Thank you!
Please remember to reach out and thank our outgoing trustees.
Sincerely and presidentially,
Eddie
