EVENT HOSTING REPORT, JUNE, 2019
May was a decidedly mixed month for Event Hosting. While May Evening of Music host Elly Faden reported that the night was warm and congenial, it was attended by only eight people. This may well be the proverbial Bull Durham “new league record.” I’m sure that this was a function of distance (as well as competition from Richard Thompson in Montclair), and I hope that you’ll consider it a lesson learned on my part. In the meantime, serious kudos are due to Elly, for showing her usual grace and hospitality under what must have been difficult circumstances.
On the brighter side, we have arranged for the July 4 Project picnic to be held in Morris County’s Lewis Morris Park, at Sugarloaf A, a wide-open spot with shelter, charcoal grills, ample parking, access to a lake, and, believe it or not, actual restrooms.
Also, I’m very happy to announce a new addition to the family of Eve O’ hosts. Diane Polledri will open her Verona home on July 13.
The June Eve O' will be cleverly disguised as an Afternoon O', hosted by Pam Robinson and Bob Safranek on June 9.
Submitted in the Spirit of the Project,
Jay Wilensky, EH chair.
