I finally finished the revisions to all the Minstrel job descriptions, and they have been sent to John Lamb and Lori Falco to be added to the Folk Project website. What I envision is that a volunteer tab would be added to the menu across the top. Originally I thought a page should show up with a list of short one or two sentences to describe the jobs with live icons next to each description that would lead to a full length description of that job.
In discussions with several people, it was pointed out that that the Volunteer tab should lead to a list of the various venues (Minstrel, Swingin' Tern, etc.) so that the other venues could add their job descriptions if they desire. Right now, I don't know if the other venues HAVE job descriptions for their volunteers, but it may be that if they knew it was available, they would use the space. I am open to your recommendations.
On another matter, I have to say that I can't tell you how frustrated and out of the loop I have felt as a Volunteer Staffing Chair over the last several months not being able to be present on a regular basis at Minstrel. My feeling is the first requirement of a job is to just show up. If you can't at least do that, well, sheese, everything else sort of pales by comparison. I have thought seriously of trying to find a replacement for myself who would be willing to fill in on Friday evenings until this tedious nonsense is over. On the other hand, I haven't actually heard any complaints, rather only support and good wishes which I truly appreciate. I can tell you improvement is happening even as we speak, and although I am not off non-weight bearing crutches yet, I am told that I may be able to drive by the 1st of July. If you can hang in there with me for another couple of months, hopefully I will be back in business by then. Of course, meanwhile, I have to learn how to walk again.
Thanks to Pam's kindness, I will be able to attend the meeting tomorrow.
