In 2007 they released a cd of civil war themed songs, “No Longer Gray or Blue.” Their previous cd, “No Glory Here Today,” in 2001 won the NJ Courier News award for the best independent country album of the year. 573) 7/17/13 Walt Koken w/ Clare Milliner (fiddle) - started playing banjo in 1959. He joined the Busted Toe Mudthumpers in the late 1960's. In 1972 he formed the widely acclaimed Highwoods Stringband. They toured the U.S. as well as Latin America and Europe, and recorded three LP's on Rounder Records. 576) Frank Fotusky - plays Acoustic Blues in the style reminiscent of the great East Coast "Piedmont" players such as Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Boy Fuller, John Jackson, Blind Willie McTell to name a few. A majority of his material is culled from the '20's, '30's and '40's; his original compositions are rooted in this era and still carry a contemporary feel.
