We have been working diligently as a Nominating Committee to find excellent candidates to fill upcoming vacancies, and we've confirmed the current board members who will continue in their existing positions.
We respectfully submit the attached tabular report as our recommendation of Nominations to the Folk Project Board for 2013. We have found suitable and excellent candidates for all positions, except Secretary.
But please don't worry about finding a Secretary for 2013! We do have a person who has done an excellent job for us as Secretary in the past, and is willing to do the job again; but it was not His First Choice to be secretary again. Therefore, we we will expand our search with an article in the December newsletter, to see if we can find another viable candidate. If we don't find another suitable candidate for Secretary before the FP Annual Membership Meeting on December 4, we will recommend that this person be 'drafted' into the position. He has clearly expressed willingness to serve as Secretary, if he is drafted! The Trustees will be able to elect him as Secretary on December 4.
Please remember the format for elections at our annual meeting, as outlined in Article III of our constitution:
First the membership elects the new Trustees.
Next, the Trustees elect the Officers.
Finally, the new Committee Chairpersons are elected by the Trustees and the Officers.
We hope that the board will pass a motion to accept this nominations slate. Additional nominations can be made at the annual meeting.
Sincerely,
Mike Agranoff
