Nothing to report with regards to anything that happened, or plans for the future.
But there is one bit of encouraging news that I would like to relay to you. It concerns an interview on NPR I heard just this evening [Feb. 25] with Dr. Celine Gounder, a member of the Biden transition team's coronavirus advisory board. She was reporting on the state of vaccinations of the population of the country. She commented on a hypothetical situation about which I have been wondering for months, and had not heard any definitive answer until just then. “Are gatherings of people, all of whom have been vaccinated safe to drop social distancing and masking restrictions?” The relevant passage from the interview is quoted below.
SHAPIRO [the interviewer]: ...And it's worth emphasizing the good news for that reason?
GOUNDER: No, absolutely. And look. Like, if you've been vaccinated, can you hang out with other people who have been vaccinated and do so safely without a mask? Absolutely! If you've all been vaccinated, that you can do safely. [My italics] I think where it becomes a little stickier is for those who have been vaccinated, they still do need to be careful when they're around people who have not yet been. And just remember, look. You got lucky. You got vaccinated first. Just, you know, show a little bit of caring and respect for those who are still waiting in line.

That opens up the very real possibility of reopening the Troubadour to attendees, staff, and performers, all of whom have all been vaccinated. Even though it’s not officially from the CDC, it makes eminent sense, and it is very encouraging. And I imagine that if it is indeed true, we’ll hear it from the CDC well before we’re ready to re-open.
