Sound Report

Not much has happened with the sound projects since the last meeting, so this report will look a lot like the March report. The Basics The work session for February that didn't happen due to weather related issues, still didn't happen. We do remain optimistic as my job is showing signs of lightening up a bit.

Permanent MUUF sound

I've had requests about what's next with the big purchase. Right now, not much. As we talked about in the last report, the MUUF project is back to square one, getting new bidders and possibly modifying their plan so it's going to take a while. Thus we're going to start with monitors that will be needed anyway and are not part of the MUUF side, hopefully buying them ourselves and outside of the grant so that there's no future issue about ownership and to maximize the earnings of the grant while in storage. This time the bidders and suggestions are from us and the plans a little more doable and practical. If the bids come back too high again, they will edit their wish list some more. This could go on for months or a year or more, thus my suggestion that we put the grant into something interest bearing. The speakers were matched to other parts of the plan deemed expensive, so they may go with a different speaker arrangement. I'd still like to see the speakers horizontally hanging from the ceiling, rather than vertically and spread so far apart near the glass doors, so that the amplified portion of what's coming from the speakers sounds like it's coming from the stage. Improvements anyway I've got some numbers, but not enough to form a request for purchase. Hold for the May meeting, or sooner.
