I. Over all plan is to stop begging for volunteers most Wednesdays and Thursdays
II. If we can effect five positive changes , both big and small, by end of the year, will
count as successful year
I. Late December, I met w/ Mike A. and Amy L. to intro and go over some ideas, large
and small…
A. Trying some changes with Minstrel Kitchen staff
1. Per Amy, one of the hardest volpops to fill
2. Already implemented the Kitchen upgrade, whereby volunteers help with clean
up during intermission so all kitchen staff can see entire show and not miss
any.
a) Culture change will be ongoing
b) We’ve done this change now during three separate Minstrel shows, all to
rave reviews.
B. Introduce idea of “Welcome Table”
1. Simplify, neaten, reduce clutter, and make more presentable for our customers
2. Ask for Board help here
a) All personal clothing stored in office
b) Take out dinners, purses, etc. also stored in office area
c) Plenty of room here!
C. Looking into possibility of a “Flowers” position
1. To dress up our Welcome Table!
2. Use Constant Contact to poll vols first
3. Would need six months of vols, May - Oct.
4. Other six months, either Head Staff, etc…
D. Updating Job Descriptions is ongoing
1. Include more detail
2. Printable for newbies
3. Deborah has agreed to take on the job of working with our Web Team to help
keep our web pages updated and current.
4. Deborah and I’ve been granted editing access by Chris to Wiki Job
Description area!
E. Begin reserving two seats front center right for MC and pal
1. MC needs max. visibility w/ performer to communicate time frames, etc.
2. Signs have been made and laminated, so this is another upgrade already in
effect.
