Subject: Swingin' Tern November report
The Swingin' Tern report for October:
Swingin' Tern continues to have successful dances.
On October 6, we hosted Alexander Deis-Lauby calling to the Brooklyn Swing Ensemble, and on October 20, Melanie Axel-Lute called to Jigaplex.
Gail Yazersky arranged for Brooklyn Swing and Alex to call for her birthday dance on October 6, and she sponsored the dance by paying all expenses. Dancers who attended contributed toward at the door, to the benefit of FP/ST. Many non-regular ST dancers came, both to celebrate Gail's birthday and to dance to the excellent performers.
For the month, FP/ST finished $400 in the black.
A most unfortunate event was the passing of Matt Friedman at age 47. He was the son of our beloved Gloria Friedman. Matt's funeral yesterday was a wonderful tribute to his life -- there's no doubt he was Gloria's son -- as witnessed by quite a few FP/ST members.
