Subject: Sound Reinforcement Committee Report for August 2020
The Folk Project participated in a joint concert with the Arts and Events Dept. of Madison, NJ. This show, labeled LIVE at the Drive-In, with showtime at 6:15 July 25 went very well and was well received by all who attended. The FP supplied two people for the sound, Mike Del Vecchio and myself to design, build and run the sound system. The A&E Dept. supplied two people to help build and break down the system. We used the FP owned EV loudspeakers from storage at MUF, and they functioned flawlessly. The A&E dept. supplied a short range FM low wattage transmitter which allowed the audience to listen on their car radio's if they wished. This was in addition to my sound equipment that is normally seen at the Getaways. The combination covered a 1 acre parking lot, provided sound quality praised by all attendees. Eric Hafen, the director of the A&E Dept. went around the entire parking lot and polled all the attendees for their enjoyment level, and all were very positive on the sound and other aspects of the concert. It was great to hit the quality mark at such a high level as it encourages repeat attendance. The principal staff are looking into the possibility of another concert sometime in September.
