Report From “The Chair” – Paul Fisher

Not a lot new from “The Chair”. Half the month Paul was in Chile.

We are still in need of a couple of new committee members as current members move on to other positions.

We are adding the NJ Arts grant boilerplate to our press releases.

Wishful Thinking:

• We still need to find ways to promote our Social Media more.

• We could use a champion to set up a repository of Folk Project event photos.

◦ We get requests several times a year and it would be great to be able to just grab some!

• We can use a champion for Merchandise.

◦ Plan occasional sales at events such as member Minstrel concerts.

◦ Deliver inventory to Michael Cohen at the Getaways for sale there.

◦ Track inventory a few times a year.

◦ Figure out when and if we should order new t-shirts and books.

Webmaster Report – John Lamb

February has been a mostly quiet month on the website. The main activity was updating the Getaway site and going live with registrations. There were minor changes on the home page and the HSNOI page. We were informed that the version of PHP that we currently use will be updated because the old version will not longer be receiving technical support. Allan is assessing the impact of this change. Finally, there was the usual maintenance on the email system.

Stats from Google AdWords and Analytics for the calendar month of February:

User sessions - 3111 for an average of 111.1 per day representing a 19.0% increase over the previous month. Fewest (75) on February 5, most (164) on February 14.

Total number of unique Users - 2273, a 6.9% increase over the previous month. Returning users accounted for 37.6% of all sessions.

Total page views - 7097, up 7.7% over the previous month, for an average of 2.3 pages per session

Average session duration - 1 minute 31 seconds. This is down by 5.2% over the previous month.

Google AdWords traffic accounted for 779 sessions, or a rather remarkable 25.0% of the total.

Notable numbers of references to us from other sites: visitnj.org (46 sessions), njbluegrass.org (40 sessions) and contradancelinks.com (29 sessions.)

We reached users in 48 countries on 6 continents.

Our most frequently visited pages were the home page (2087 pageviews), the Minstrel calendar page (1212) and the Getaway main page (680). The following also got at least 100 page views for the month: the newsletter download page, the main Swingin' Tern page, the newsletter download page, the About Getaway page, the Special Concerts page, the HSNOI main page, the Minstrel Open Stage page, and the Getaway site page.

As always, thanks to the team of Charles, Lori, Allan and FiL. Please keep those questions, comments and suggestions coming to webmaster@folkproject.org
