Doug Heacock has taken up glassblowing which he said is very satisfying.He added that he always admired and collected glass and he's working with a one on one with Scott Staats, an artisan in Hopewell. He has posted some of his work on his Facebook page, and he said he is having a blast.
Jean Scully picked up her son Von from a 2 week visit in Spain where he had a really good time with old and new friends.She talked about the getaway which she felt was wonderful. She thought the music was first rate and had a lot of feeling of "old folk project", the camaraderie, the music, the schmoozing. She thought it was really, really wonderful. She also announced that her husband Dave got a new job which is going well. She also reported that she went to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY, where she had a marvelous time. She said that it is held on the Duchess County Fairgrounds and there's vendors and their sheep, and demonstrations and classes. She took a couple of different classes. She spent 4 days up there, as she went a couple days before the festival itself started to take classes and just had a marvelous time.
Mark Schaffer went to New Zealand with Robin for 2 1/2 weeks. He thought it was very educational and beautiful. There were all kinds of just wonderful terrain. It was just the kind of thing where it was between the earthquakes and between the animals, and between just the people we traveled with. He felt they really had a special time.
George Otto went in for Covid shots, and additionally got RSV, Pneumonia and Shingles. He felt everything went smoothly except the RSV, which he said kicked like a mule. It took it took his left arm out for about a day, He recommended spreading them out.
Elizabeth Lachowicz got to go to Houston, Texas. The Friday before she was supposed to leave. she took the day off work to spend the day with her son Thomas, but she had an email that said that the training room she reserved in Texas for 2 days she would have to leave half a day early. She had to go into the office to find a new venue. However, it all turned out beautifully. She found a hotel. She had 20 people,in the session, so she had them all pick up boxes and carry them over to the hotel from this fabulous training facility that they had for the first day. She was able to move ahead and then they had a very successful event after all. The only thing she got to see in Houston was the statue of George Bush at the airport.
