Dear Bird of Directors,
Festival prep is in full swing. This is workshop week, We're working with the performers.
Next week is Project workshop leader week. If you have something you'd like to share with your fest-mates, now is the time to let us know. If you let us know in the surveys, we already know it,
but it's still fun and enlightening to brainstorm about workshops.
Summer registrations are traditionally slower, so every registration gets a thank you prayer from Mark the atheist. Go figure.
Once again, our focus is to find enough first timers to keep the festival vibrant for the 80 people that always come and the 80 people that come regularly, and in spite of the normal attrition that all programs suffer.
We think it was evident from the excitement generated at the last festival that the principles at the heart of the Project and the festival are the guidelines we use to inspire any tweaks in procedure.
Our outside communications efforts begin this week also. We will approach folk radio shows, cultural web sites, and every Minstrel audience and Project email list.
We have begun staffing. Festival fans are particularly willing to chip in and help. That is one reason why the festival is inexpensive for all of us. However, we are continually looking for the right volunteer for the right job. If you are such a person, please contact the Festival Chaircouple today.
Yours in sweat & song,
Mark & Robin
