I'll send out the regular September membership report soon (but not in time for the meeting).
We're still getting caught up following an involuntarily extended vacation.
Good of the Order:
We went to visit my Mom on the Washington Olympic Peninsula and attend my niece's wedding celebration. The wedding was wonderful.
The weather was beautiful -- sunny with temps in the high 60's and low 70's all week -- and, as it turned out, the week after as well. We also were able to spend several hours conferring with the contractor who is renovating our retirement home -- he's a genius at functional design and it's going to be great!
We were scheduled to fly back from our vacation on the day that Irene dumped a small part of the Caribbean ocean on Newark Airport. The first flight we could get home after that was a week later -- the red- eye Friday-night/Saturday-morning. There was no damage to our NJ home except a week-long power outage and the attendant ruination of the contents of our freezer and refrigerators; also an alarm clock/radio and the home internet router got zapped when the power failed.
Fortunately, I had a spare router on hand and was able to get internet connected as soon as the power returned.
Really !!!BIG!!! thanks and folkie hugs to Bob and Pam for battening down the hatches at our house before the storm while we were away!
Rick
