Special Concerts Report to Board - October 2020
The Acoustic Stayaway is running well. Attendance is back up after a brief lull around Labor Day. Kathi and Gary are running tests before concerts to limit our tech issues.
Originally, all concerts were broadcast on the performer’s choice of platform. As reported, we tried to move all concerts to the Project’s Facebook Live page. We’ve now prefer that Gary works out on a case-by-case basis whether to us the Project’s FB page or the performers platform.
We continue to explore the legal and royalty ramifications of rebroadcasting concerts from the Project’s Facebook page. Paul is setting up a meeting with the Pro Bono Partnership to double-check legal opinions received so far.
Of Note:
On Friday, October 2nd, all Facebook Live concerts suffered technical difficulties. Happy Traum’s Stayaway concert was interrupted along with everyone else’s in the U.S.
Gary Pratt is executing most of Stayaway procedures after booking. Kathi Caccavale does our Facebook marketing. She does our broadcasting tech along with Gary. Todd helps with overall strategy, tech issues, Zoom special events and member performance tie-ins like Halloween. We have our first signup for the Halloween Party, which Gary will host and Todd will do tech and sidekick duties.
Jay Wilensky and Dave Kliener’s Zoom workshops are well-run and well-attended. Joe Guzzo’s TV show is wonderful and a remarkable achievement.
