Webmaster Report – John Lamb
What with UkeFest taking place and the Getaway fast approaching, the web team has
been busier than usual this month.
First off, we are sorry to report that Barbara Moo has opted to leave the team. We are all
sorry to see her go, but are sure that her volunteer efforts will continue to be appreciated
elsewhere within the Folk Project. We would be happy to receive another volunteer to
replace her if anyone out there is interested.
Another important bit of news is that we have switched registrars for our domain name,
folkproject.org. We had registered through Network Solutions Inc for many years. We
switched to DreamHost both out of gratitude for the free hosting service they give us and
because they are both less expensive and easier to deal with than NSI. As part of this
switch, our domain has been renewed through August of next year. If all goes well (and it
appears that it has) then there should be absolutely no impact of this change to the users
of the site, other than our saving $10 or $20 per year on domain registration. Special
thanks to George Otto for dealing with the NSI red tape that only he, as the original account
holder for the registration, could handle.
We have also been busy with the usual day-to-day updates on mailing lists, UkeFest and
Getaway pages and handling the odd (sometimes very odd) request that comes in from
time to time.
As always, thanks to Allan, Lori and Charles for all they do. Please send suggestions, questions and
reasonable requests to webmaster@folkproject.org.

Uke NJ 3! publicity has been very successful. Front page photo and full page article in TGIF
newspaper prior to the weekend. Online, Bill Nutt of the Daily Record did a long article in the
Entertainment section (http://www.dailyrecord.com/story/entertainment/events/2015/08/28/uke-newjersey-
festival-celebrates-ukulele/32473935/).
We have started to work with Deborah on the Halloween Show publicity.
Morris Tourism has repeated their request for audience and performer photos from Folk Project
events for their website. Who should we contact about this? The request mentions “Performers,
performers with a bit of audience and anything else that you think would best represent your
organization and talent.”
The Publicity Committee welcomes Olga Alvarez and Eileen Napolitano, who quickly responded to
our Newsletter front page plea for volunteers. Welcome!
