Community Service sent 2 get-well cards this month – one to Alan Bases, who I had the pleasure of seeing at the July 4th picnic and one to Jean Ritchie. What a cool job – I get to send a card to one of folk music’s icons.
Waynestock was a huge leap from anything we have done before and I think it went pretty well considering the scope of what we attempted. I know that many of the individual musicians have played outdoor venues before but I think it is the first time the FP has attempted a large outdoor show on 2 stages.
I am soliciting feedback in case we have the opportunity to do this type of thing again. Most responses suggest that we include seating under the tent with the musicians or that we put speakers under the existing food tent.
Audubon has contacted me about hosting what they are calling their sanctuary concerts. When Denis Cleary returns from vacation I will suggest the 5 people who generously donated their time for the Audubon May Day event. This event will be paid.
