Hi!
I'm going to be on the West Coast when the July meeting happens(Good of the Order: I'm there for my Mom's 90th birthday party celebration), so here is the Membership report for July a bit early...
Cathy and I have been doing some statistical analysis on the Membership database. Here's what we found for the database as it stands on June 19, 2010 (All membership transactions I have received as of that date have been processed and the Newsletter mailing labels have been transmitted to Carl).
Number of complimentary memberships: 33
Number of corporate memberships: 1
Number of sustaining memberships: 130
Number of plain memberships: 215
Number of active memberships (total): 379 Number of actual people those memberships represent: 512
The previous estimates of 600 and 400 as reported in the June Minutes are a bit higher. That was guess-work. This is hard data.
Future work:
Getting these numbers this time was a fairly lengthy and largely manual process. I'd love to automate it so that I can easily give you a monthly report with this kind of data. That's a project for the near future.
I'm also working on an analysis of the renewal data intrinsic in the payments table, so that I can tell how many people renew on time vs let their memberships lapse -- and how long they usually go before they realize that they are missing their monthly NewsLetter fix and pay up.
I'm also working on getting a list of recently expired memberships and associated email and paper-mail addresses, so that I can send out regular reminders.
Let me know if there is anything else along those lines you think it would be fun to see.
Enjoy!
Rick
