The SC event this past Sunday featuring Craobh Rua was a success both artistically and financially. The band was wonderful and and everyone enjoyed the evening.

If I counted right we had a profit of around $400. We will know for sure next month when all the PayPal numbers are in.

I had a champion (Debbie Roeder Shaw) who went out to the local radio stations to try to both give away tickets and get the show announced. She found that many of the stations require either about 10 tickets for give-aways and/or donations/contributions to the radio station before they will announce our events. I don't have a clear idea of the donation/contribution amount, I can look into it if the board thinks it is worth our time/monies to have this type of advertising.

We did get one radio station WFDU to both announce the show and offer 2 tickets. The winner did attend the event. WFVU might have announced the concert during one of their Irish shows, but we don't know for sure.

We did get the word out via several newspapers both thru the FP sources and Debbie's contacts in the Irish community. I saw the press release in the Independent Press and Diane Ellefson had an interview she did with band leader Brian Connolly which was printed in last Friday's TGIF section of the Daily Record.

Thanks go out to Debbie Roeder Shaw, Liz Pagan, the SC committee and the event volunteers for making it a great show and a fun time for all.
