Here's my report for this month. Will be unable to attend the board meeting - fell in our driveway on Friday afternoon and badly injured my face, mouth and teeth. Ouch! But I'm on the road to recovery. Nancy K.

Webmaster Report – John Lamb
The website continues to function as designed with the Minstrel and Swingin’ Tern pages being updated regularly by those responsible. The site appears a little sparse at the moment because we have neither a festival nor any special concerts/dances/workshops/house concerts to publicize right now. If anyone has any events coming up that they would like featured front and center on the site, we would love to hear about them.
There was some work done on the site in support of the great Festival that we just completed. As soon as I have a few moments, I will be replacing the information about that festival with some advance information and teasers for the next one.
Allan Kugel has been doing some work in support of distribution of the MinstrelGram through Constant Contact, and Lori Falco has been administering our Constant Contact mailing lists. Many thanks to both of them. As always, we welcome questions, comments and suggestions sent to webmaster@folkproject.org.
Facebook Report - Pam Robinson
All is well. Please help by posting comments on the Folk Project’s Wall and by inviting your friends to Folk Project events. Both are easy and I can explain how.
Publicity Chairman Report – Nancy Kelner
The publicity committee continued to cover approximately six dozen outlets via computer and snail mail. Our Facebook chairman maintains our Facebook page. Our webmaster and his committee maintain the Folk Project website as well as handle other computer-related tasks. Many thanks to all the committee members.
After consultation with Mike and Scooter, I have decided to discontinue the Jersey Arts twofer offer, due to poor response over a period of four months (Feb. – May).
One of our contacts at Jersey Arts, Jonathan Elliott, has left the organization. He helped us publicize the twofer offers via a special monthly email. Also, our long-time contact at Recorder Newspapers, Christine Sullivan, has left. Hope their replacements are as good to the Folk Project as they were.
NJ Skylands Visitor magazine, which ran an article about the Folk Project that Jim King wrote, now wants us to pay $385 to be listed on line and in their magazine. Recommend we not pay; we have plenty of other places to send our info to.
Invited the jazz niches to the May 18 Minstrel (Frank and Hank); Tony Mottola, editor of the NJ Jazz Society’s magazine, attended with NJJS reporter Linda Lobdell. Tony emailed, “We definitely plan a story with pix on the Hank/Frank show for the July issue. Also, we slipped a promo for the upcoming Diane Perry show in the June issue, and will try and do a story on that show as well.” The Perry promo was taken verbatim from the Minstrel web page. Also sent info on the June 15 Minstrel (Diane Perry) to the jazz niches. Tony said he’d like to do a story about it; will check to see if he did.
Several magazines and newspapers printed our Minstrel and Swingin’ Tern schedules since my last report: Bernardsville News and The Collection. The Suburban News listed the Rahway Library Folk Café concert series a few times. Folk Project members performed there in May and will perform in June: Circle Round the Sun, Roia Rafieyan and Mindy Schmitt. The latest article stated, “All of the performers are members of the NJ Folk Project.”
Asked Princeton Folk Song Society to fix link to Minstrel page. They did. The link to the Folk Project page was and still is fine.
Tom Werder replaced Anne Aronovitch as executive director at the Arts Council of the Morris Area in mid-May.
Thought I would post the Folk Project as an organization on NJ Kids Online; got a call from a woman there; the listing costs $250 per year; we decided we would not list the Folk Project but would continue to post events to their calendar, which is free
Shared some publicity outlet info with Tony Mottola to pass along to NJ Jazz Society for its use. It’s nice when organizations share information.
Spoke to Sandie Reilly after someone suggested we also publicize Horses Sing None of It. We could easily send out an HSNOI flyer with show schedule and station listings. Sandie thought it was a good idea and I await her first flyer.
