Subject: Acoustic Getaway Report to Folk Project Board - November 2019
Dear Board,
The 2020 Spring Getaway has entered the planning phase: Booking and survey review of the Fall Getaway is underway.
Survey results for the 2020 Fall Getaway include an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. The sense of community received an astounding 4.9 out of 5 stars. We’re happy to announce that Diane Polledri will be the Spring Fest Forward performer. The surveys, as always, included a number of useful suggestions.
2019 Fall Getaway’s bill from Stony Point is still under review. We expect the total to go down after discussion.
Another Getaway Day is being planned for Saturday, June 6th, 2020. It will focus on guitar. Friday, June 5th has been reserved for a Special Concert at The Troubadour featuring a guitar player. This "Guitar Getaway Day" is being planned with Martin Guitar and Getaway alumnus Dick Boak, and our own Bob McNally, a Folk Project founding member and be-famed luthier. The goal is to create a spectacular event that attracts area guitarists to the Folk Project.
We have verbal consent for the March 20, 2020 Bromberg Quintet/Steve Wexler Memorial concert. We await a revised contract that includes a rider for an opening act. The opening act will be Frank Sole & Henry Nerenberg.
Yours in song,
Mark Schaffer
