Getaway Annual Report

Dear Board & Membership,

The committee ran two weekends: a Spring and a Fall Getaway.

Each weekend sold out within two weeks.

They earned $4,678 over budget.

Spring performers included:

 Pat Donohue

 Lucy Kaplansky

 Stu Fuchs

 The WYOS

 Claudia Schmidt

 Brendan Taaffe

 Ken & Pat Rolston

 Kate Hedman

Fall performers included:

 Spring Performers included:

 Beppe Gambetta

 Anna & Elizabeth

 Gathering Time

 Joe Crookston

 Ilusha Tsinadze

 Uncle Zac

 Seth Glier

 No Strings Attached

 The Not Quite Ready for Cable TV Players

Member performances are a continued focus of the program through:

 Live in the Lounge

 The Vocalotto

 Fest Forward Members Choice

 The Skit

Getaway continues to attract the largest number of new members to the Folk Project.

The committee also ran two Getaway Pre-Parties at the Schafferosa through Meetup.com

to introduce newcomers to the weekend and to the Project.

Many Getaway and Pre-Party First Timers have become core Folk Project participators

and regularly attend other Project activities.

Logistics continue to improve as guests, volunteers and the committee

become more experienced with the camp and their tasks.

The volunteer pool is large, dedicated, enthusiastic, competent, and extremely talented.

It is the main force behind Getaway’s success.

A special thanks to them and also to the donators who enable many of our members to attend.

The Spring Getaway was blessed with the wedding of Tim & Nancy.

It was logistically complicated, but a wonderful community-building event.

The weekend was extended through Monday to accommodate the wedding.

Getaway attendees have expressed interest in a Monday extension in the future,

and it is being considered.

The 2016 Spring Getaway is mostly booked.

It promises to be our strongest program ever.

The committee also ran the first Summer Songs members show,

which was fun and successful and profitable.

Regards,

Mark
