MINSTREL BOOKING
April was a fine month at the Minstrel. We averaged 116.7 paid for the month (96.3 if we include the Open Stage), and for the first time ever, the average feature act's pay for the month was in the Comma Club. ($1003). We were SRO for Bucky Pizzarelli, and came out $337 in the black for the month. Jack Williams put on a brave show while ill with the flu. There's a real pro.
I had put out a request in the April Newsletter for people who would be willing to host performers after the show on Friday nights, and 3 people responded. That brings us up to 7 potential hosts, which is a good comfortable number.
John Lamb has produced a revised tally sheet for the Minstrel that will display customized outputs tailored for the Head Staff, the Minstrel Chair, and the Treasurer. Those outputs will display all the data needed by each of those three individuals in a compact form, so we don't need to hunt through the sheet to find it.
New bookings in April:
· August 1: Reeds, Rhythm, and All That Brass 18-piece band with several Folk Project members doing American Songbook materal. Booked specifically on Falcon Ridge Friday to attract a non-folkie crowd, that would not likely be drawn away to that festival.
· August 15: Suzzy Roche & Lucy Wainwright Roche Mother/daughter songwriter duo from a great folk lineage. With songwriter / piano player Dan Pelletier opening.
· August 22: Christine DeLeon with Mike Del Vecchio opening. A family show and a Folk Project Family show. This one is going to be entirely too sweet.
· September 19: Bob Cannon opening for Modern Man. FP member songwriter / guitarist.
Highlights for May:
OCEAN Celtic coming up this Friday, May 2 with Millstone River Morris opening (Including FP members Amy Livingston & Brian Hudson)
